One of the outstanding results of this new development is the variety of transmission possibilities, corresponding to the already known rider tuned concept. The new 11-speed drive allows each driver to tune the bike for each specific application by various gradations.

The Dura Ace 11-speed rear derailleur has been redesigned and has also, thanks to the new, low-friction polymer-coated features significantly more common, faster and smoother shifting. The switching forces are over the entire switching spectrum, consistent, so that the forces at the sprockets are nearly identical. Compatible to a wider range of cassettes with maximum 28 tooth sprocket.
